The Nurse Educator (NE), Level 3, is responsible for the coordination, planning, development and evaluation of professional development activities, in conjunction with nurses from a variety of delegations and other relevant stakeholders. The NE will apply clinical knowledge and experience to support nursing practice by providing learning experiences, educational materials and knowledge access systems. The NE will support clinicians undertaking local teaching activities in the required environments. Employees classified at this level use their clinical knowledge and experience to provide a corporate support service to nursing practice, which may include but not be limited to areas such as the provision of a range of education, training, learning experiences and materials. Employees classified at this level accept accountability for the outcomes of nursing/midwifery education practices, for addressing inconsistencies between practice and policy; and for contributing to a safe and positive work culture in the interest of patient/client outcomes. Registered or eligible for registration as a Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia and who holds, or who is eligible to hold, a current practicing certificate.
